I'm reaching out because I see a message on my GitHub page that says "Use GitHub Copilot for free," but when I try to sign up, I get the error: "Your account is unable to sign up for Copilot. Please contact Support."

Could you please clarify why this is happening and let me know how I can proceed? My GitHub username is [your-username].

Github typically gives Copilot pro for free to students, teachers and open-source maintainers.
If you are a student or teacher you must first get verified on Github's education program here
