Hi everyone,Can anyone please tell me what I should do in this case? After being having Faculty/Teacher status for all of 2025 and reapplying for teacher/faculty member status again a few days ago, I was accepted, but provided with Student status. Can this please be rectified somehow? The Apply/Re-Apply button is greyed-out on the application page and GitHub doesn't deal with these cases individually any more. Feeling just a little helpless here. I'm happy to provide information again, but I won't provide it here, for clear privacy reasons. Thank you so much for any help from anyone, |

Do NOT re-apply again . Reply to the existing GitHub Education ticket Use the same ticket with the (#) and clearly state you are faculty/staff, not a student, or just submit a clearly distinguishable faculty document Community-verified documents that work best |

From what I’ve seen, when you do reapply, the system pretty much treats it as if it was a brand new verification (generates new documents, etc.), at least for my clients. It doesn't "remember" that you had Faculty before — it just looks at whatever info there is now. If anything in the auto-check suggested “student” (email structure, type of document, something in institution data etc) it can get set to Student even if that is not correct. And yes, if your status is currently active (even if in Student) that’s why the reapply button is greyed out |
