The Opus Model disappears in my vscode github copilot extension but in website there's a Claude Opus 4.5 is it normal or bug? Can anyone help me please

But in android studio there's a Claude Opus and also in my CLI and also I download vscode in my backup laptop and there's a complete A.I models but here in my main laptop many models are disappear.

I have the same issue. A second account (my friend's) with a paid Pro plan has access to Opus, but education account doesn't. The education account also has a billing option and a valid payment method.

I don't think this is a bug. There was discounted trial access in Cursor, and based on the Cursor discount, it would have cost 3x per request in Copilot, so it was probably removed.

Claude Opus 4.5 will be available to Copilot Pro, Pro+, Business, and Enterprise users, priced at a promotional 1x premium request multiplier through December 5, 2025.

During the promotional period, Claude Opus 4.5 will also roll out as the default model for Copilot coding agent when enabled.

I had the same problem. It turns out some models were disabled in the GitHub Copilot settings. After re-enabling them and waiting for 5 minutes, everything was back to normal in VS Code.

try checking it out again because they pushed a fix like ~10 minutes ago. if you still have issues try saying something here: microsoft/vscode#286403

for the past ~2 weeks I have not been able to see the Opus 4.5 model in the model selection list.

Just did:

• Signed out and signed back in

• Reloaded/refreshed the window (and restarted the app/editor)

the model list still does not show Opus 4.5 or anyother Anthropic models.

Try to reinstall vs code if reset or sign in or out is not working.
If these should also not fix the problem, shift to antigravity for the time until the problem fix.
Antigravity is giving Opus 4.5 free for now

It is enabled from day 1 in github settings, I also recently uninstalled and reinstalled the vs code still I am not able to see the Anthropic models in model picker.

Anthropic models do not appear in Copilot cli as well:

I Don't like to bearer of bad news but in discussion #189268 #https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/189268 they did say they're removing Claude Opus, Sonnet and any "Top Tier" Model.

As part of this transition, however, some premium models, including GPT-5.4, and Claude Opus and Sonnet models, will no longer be available for self-selection under the GitHub Copilot Student Plan. We know this will be disappointing, but we’re making this change so we can keep Copilot free and accessible for millions of students around the world. so if u are using a student plan u cant see it

I lost my Opus Dei and I'm not on the student plan. I'll have to look at the Claude code once. Copilot manages to be extremely frightening. For God's sake.

I'm experiencing the same issue; I can't select any model and this is started this morning. I've opened a ticket with Copilot support, but I haven't received a response yet.
I'm on Pro plan
