Why offer sorting by name if you don't support it? #189467

I completely understand your frustration. When you're paying for a Pro subscription, any change that disrupts your workflow feels like a step backward. Before concluding that the feature was removed, could you check a few things? GitHub has recently updated its UI, and sorting behavior can change based on the context:
If it's truly gone for you, I highly recommend submitting this through the GitHub Feedback portal. They tend to take regressions reported by Pro users quite seriously! |

Quick Solution Steps: Clear browser cache and cookies – Often fixes UI glitches after GitHub updates Try different browser/incognito mode – Rules out extension conflicts or cached issues Check for experimental features – Go to Settings → Feature preview and disable any active experiments that might affect UI Verify it's not repository-specific – Test on different repos to see if issue persists Report to GitHub Support – If still broken, file a report at https://support.github.com/contact Why This Happens: Likely a temporary UI bug after recent deployment, not intentional removal GitHub occasionally A/B tests features, which can temporarily hide functionality for some users Could be a regression from a recent code change |

Sorting by name was available to my view until only recently. Now it doesn't work anymore. Clearly it was there before, but now it suddenly stopped working. What reason is there to provide functionality then remove it from users? I am paying for GitHub Pro, so this seems like a slap in the face for paying for services.
