Why offer sorting by name if you don't support it?

Sorting by name was available to my view until only recently. Now it doesn't work anymore. Clearly it was there before, but now it suddenly stopped working. What reason is there to provide functionality then remove it from users? I am paying for GitHub Pro, so this seems like a slap in the face for paying for services.

Before concluding that the feature was removed, could you check a few things? GitHub has recently updated its UI, and sorting behavior can change based on the context:

1. The New 'File Tree' View: GitHub recently introduced a new repository sub-navigation. If you are using the new 'Tree' sidebar, sorting options might be tucked away in a different menu or overridden by the default alphabetical order.
2. Repository Size Limits: Sorting by name is sometimes automatically disabled in folders with a very large number of files (usually 1,000+) to prevent performance lag. Is this happening in all your repos or just a particularly large one?
3. Feature Previews: Check your Profile Settings > Feature Previews. Sometimes being enrolled in an experimental UI can hide or break legacy sorting buttons.
