Hello,

I applied for GitHub Sponsors more than one month ago and completed the onboarding process.

However, my sponsor profile is still not activated.

I created a support ticket (#4094930) on Feb 18 and followed up on Feb 23, but I have not received any response yet.

It has now been over a month since I applied and over 13 days since my follow-up, with no update.

Could someone please check the status of my Sponsors application and let me know if any additional information is required from my side?

Even if you received the "onboarding complete" confirmation, a single missing sub-step (like an unsigned tax form) can silently hold the application.

How to Escalate Effectively
Since your support ticket has gone unanswered for 13+ days, try these:

Reply to ticket #4094930 with a clear subject line: "Escalation request – GitHub Sponsors profile inactive for 1+ month" bumping an existing ticket is faster than opening a new one

Open a new support ticket at https://support.github.com/ → select Billing & Payments → GitHub Sponsors and reference your original ticket number

I have already replied to the existing ticket and also created a new one, but unfortunately there has been no response or progress so far.

Hi @hrithikalra, sorry to hear you've been waiting this long —
a 1+ month delay with no response to your support ticket is
frustrating and completely understandable to escalate.

A few suggestions:

• Reply to your existing ticket (#4094930) again to bump it
  up in the queue — sometimes tickets go stale without a follow-up
• Try submitting a new ticket at support.github.com and
  reference your original ticket number (#4094930) so they
  can link them together
• Make sure your Sponsors profile has all required details:
  • A short bio explaining your work
  • At least one public repository with recent activity
  • A valid payout method connected (Stripe or bank account)

GitHub Sponsors approvals are done manually by staff, and
delays can happen during high-volume periods. However,
1+ month with no ticket response does warrant an escalation.

#4094930 and provide an update for @hrithikalra soon!

Thanks for the update. Since you have already replied to the existing ticket and created a new one but still haven't received any response, it might indicate that the request needs attention from the GitHub support team directly.

I recommend including both ticket numbers in your follow-up and requesting an escalation for the Sponsors onboarding review. Sometimes approvals can take longer if there is a verification backlog.

Hopefully a GitHub staff member can check the status of your application and provide an update soon.
